I'm an award-winning children's book and nature illustrator living in the Kawartha Lakes area of Canada with my husband, Jim and our chatty cat, Snooli. I've had the pleasure of illustrating a range of projects, including picture books, covers, interiors, magazines, coins, retail packaging, posters, museum exhibits, and film.
I draw inspiration from nature and have tried to share that profound connection through my art. I delight in portraying animals with a mix of sass, humour, and tenderness and bringing their environments to life. I work with pencil, crayons, and all sorts of water media on paper. I scan these before digitally collaging and tweaking them in Procreate.
I relish messing around with my paints, cuddling Miss Snooli and getting lost in a good mystery book or film. I also enjoy exploring the countryside, swimming, and browsing in bookstores, libraries, and exhibits.
